In addition to in-licensing specific molecules, Synosia has focused on building strategic relationships with our partners. This has been exemplified by our ongoing
relationship with Roche. Initiated in January 2007, the alliance originally involved five drug candidates in a variety of psychiatric and neurological indications, and this was subsequently expanded to include an additional molecule in
March 2009.
In May 2007 we announced an
agreement with Syngenta to develop a novel and highly innovative therapy for the treatment of Parkinson’s disease.
We have also licensed a molecule from
Novartis in April 2007 that was originally investigated for the treatment of psychiatric indications. More recently this mechanism has been suggested to have additional utility in bipolar disorder and we are currently considering the optimal development strategy for the programme.
