SYN-111

Sodium channel blocker

SYN-111 is a potent, specific, and orally bioavailable sodium channel blocker with proven anti-epileptic activity. Eisai was granted approval in the EU in January 2007 to market Inovelon® (rufinamide) as adjunctive therapy in Lennox Gastaut Syndrome (LGS). They received approval for the compound in the United States in November 2008 where it is marketed under the name of Banzel®.

Synosia is currently assessing options for evaluating SYN-111 in the treatment of bipolar disorder.
